Verizon Workers…Strike: “Piss Poor” Wages = Hard Work Doesn’t Pay. Who Knew??? All Who Have Worked Their Asses Off… For Peanuts!!!

                                                   EXTRA! EXTRA!

GREEDY ASS ‘VERIZON‘ FORCES STRIKE

A few days ago, approximately 40,000 Verizon Workers, from Virginia to verizonstrikersMassachusetts, went on strike.  These strikers  represent the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).   On Wednesday, they began their strike at 6:00 a.m. in midtown Manhattan & at more than 20 other locations from Massachusetts to Virginia.  Why?  The workers & Verizon were unable to reach an agreement on a new contract after the old one expired in August 2015.  The workers are protesting against Verizon for: 1) outsourcing jobs 5,000 jobs to workers in Mexico, the Philippines and the Dominican Republic; 2)  hiring more low-wage, non-union contractors; 3)  asking workers to work out of state, away from their homes, for months at a time; 4) cutting job security for all workers; 5) refusing to negotiate improvements to wages, benefits and working conditions; and 6) slashing benefits for workers injured on the job.

It’s being reported that this is the largest strike in the United States since verizonlowellmcadamsVerizon workers last walked off the job in 2011.   So…Why are Verizon Workers so upset???  That’s easy.  Verizon managed to post $ 39 billion in profits over the past 3 years.   According to Bloomberg News, the annual salary of Verizon’s CEO Lowell McAdam rose by 16 percent in 2014 to $18.3 million.    So…while they are cutting back wages & health benefits for the workers…they make sure the ‘Top’ stays at the top (income wise).  Who in the hell… do they think…make the 39 billion in profits possible??? The BASTARDS are just heartless…the BASTARDS are just greedy!!!

NBC News reports that, Isaac Collazo,  a Verizon technician & CWA member from Brooklyn who has worked at Verizon for 19 years, said, “Our families and our customers deserve more from Verizon. Through our hard work, Verizon is making record profits while our families are left with threats to our jobs and our customers aren’t getting the service they need. Striking is a hardship for our families, but we berniesanders1need to remind Verizon executives that the people who build their profits are a critical reason for the company’s success.” The Democratic Presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, went out on the picket lines with the Verizon workers.   He responded to Verizon’s treatment of it’s workers by saying, “Verizon wants to take American jobs – call center jobs – out of this country and bring them abroad where people will be paid pennies an hour. That is unacceptable. We are going to have to deal with this corporate greed, which is more concerned with compensation packages for CEOs than about the needs of hard working people who want nothing more than to be able to live in dignity and security and bring their kids up in a decent way.

” YOUR WAGES “

You Know… Many people can relate to what these Verizon Workers are going through.   It’s a rough thing  to work your ass off…for years…& not see much benefit.  People are out here…day in & day out…working 2, & sometimes 3, jobs just to pay basic bills.   We are not even talking about paying for extravagant things…here.   Extravagant???  What’s that…to them? We are talking about keeping the lights on…keeping food in the refrigerator…keeping kids clothed.   Why should doing what’s needed in order to provide these bare basic things…take such a toll on people’s lives?  It’s Just Not Right.  It’s Just Not Right!

If you are spending 14 to 16 hours per day…working…what time is left to do angryfacemuch else?  Where is the quality time to reflect on the things in life that you should be paying attention to…besides work?   Where is the quality time to spend with your children?   Where is the quality time to spend on yourself? Where is the time to go back to school to improve your circumstances? And…time is so fleeting.   Once it’s gone…it’s gone.  O.k…

How about this…Working your ass off is not showing the benefit that it should. Meaning? Meaning that when you are working hard…you should be able to move forward & not stay static in your circumstances.  You should be able to see some progress in where you are trying to go in life.
For example…there should come a time when you are able to buy a home as opposed to paying somebody’s else’s mortgage…by renting year in and year out.  But, if there is not enough money to save some…how will that ever happen?  How?  How? How?  So…

Why is this happening?  What is going on in our society that is preventing hard capitalismdollarsignworking people from moving forward?    Many hard working people are not moving forward…because our society worships “MONEY.”   That’s Right! MONEY…MONEY…MONEY.   “Greed” is the way of the day.   The motto is:  “Get mo’ money. Give me mo’ money.”   And…many of the owners of companies are greedy as hell.   Yes.  Their goal is to use their workers to make themselves richer & richer.  They don’t give a damn about sharing the wealth.  No.   And…this truth evidences itself in the “piss poor” wages that hard working people are being paid.  This shit is a sin…& a crime.   Why is it that the people… who are actually producing the wealth for the company (the workers)… seem to benefit the least from the success of the company?  You know…

This is not the way that God intended things to be.  Not at all.  He did not youreapwhatyousow3design things to work this way.  God says…”You reap what you sow.” (Galatians 6:7)  Meaning?  If you are out here busting your ass…working hard…you should not be standing still.   You should be moving forward in your circumstances.   For Real…The workers of the company should benefit as the company benefits & grows.   God intended there to be a balance here.   TRULY.  He intended there to be a sharing of the wealth.  And…the fact that the employers are ignoring godly principles & have become the lovers of money…does not please him at all.  NOT AT ALL!!!  And…Guess What?  The employers & owners of these companies know better. They do.   Jesus tells us: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7: 12)  In other words, you treat people like you want to be treated.  So…if the script was flipped & the employers were the workers… you can bet your ass that…as a worker…he/she would want to be fairly compensated for the work he/she was producing.  Now…

For the record…the “love of money” IS a sin against God.  Why? Because…God says, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (Timothy 6:10)  So…Any company that has evil at it’s root, greedmoneywill not be godly.  It can’t.  The greedy ass employer…will not look out for his/her workers.    A devilish, evil heart will not do what’s right…unless they are made to.   Unless workers stand-up & fight for what is right…it will never happen.    It is time to demand fair pay for hard work.  It is time to stop accepting crumbs for hard work.   It is time for workers to kick back at the pricks of greed.   Either demand & receive fair pay at your current job…or…find another job that gives you fair pay.   Stop killing yourself for nothing.  What the hell is the point???   If your employer chooses greed over sharing the wealth…then…you choose to leave that hell hole.  And…don’t be afraid.   Know that God says, “I will never leave you & never forsake you.”           ( 2 Deuteronomy 31:8 )  This promise includes helping you in the world of work.   So…look to God…for guidance in finding a workplace that will appreciate your hard work & pay you a decent wage.

P.S… To Add Insult to Injury (literally) – The CWA Union reported from the Picketing Lines… the Following:

Report from the Front Lines

“Two members of CWA Local 2108 at the Gaithersburg, Md., garage were hit by a Verizon management attorney driving his Porsche. That says it all, doesn’t it? One member was not seriously hurt, but the second was taken to the hospital. Another CWAer from Local 2108 who works at the Chesapeake Complex call center in Silver Spring, Md., also was hit by a management vehicle while on the picket line.”

“Really Verizon???…Isn’t It Enough That You Don’t Treat The Workers Right? Tell Your Management Team To Watch The %$#@ Where They Are Going…   Corporate Bastards!!!”
