31 of the Governors in the United States, vehemently oppose letting Syrian Refugees into their states. This kind of talk is a result of the recent ISIS attacks in Paris. The Governors’ announcements came after authorities revealed that at least one of the suspects believed to be involved in the attacks in Paris…entered Europe among the Syrian refugees. The U.S. Governors are saying that the Syrian Refugees “pose too great of a threat to U.S. national security.” In other words, these Governors are echoing the thoughts of many, “If we let these Muslim Syrian Refugees into the United States, they will try to blow us up…shoot us…& cut off our heads.” New Jersey Governor and Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie said that New Jersey will not take in any refugees – “not even orphans under the age of five.” Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal has said that he has directed Louisiana State Police to “track” the Syrian refugees in his state.
They are also looking at these suffering people as a “Trojan Horse.” This past Monday evening in Tennessee, Republican Presidential candidate, Donald J. Trump, questioned whether Syrian refugees are part of a “Trojan horse” plot. He told a large crowd of supporters, “Is this a Trojan horse? We all know the story of the Trojan horse.” Remember…the “Trojan Horse” metaphorically has come to mean “any trick or stratagem that causes a target to invite an enemy into a securely protected place.” So…for Donald Trump, these Syrian Refugees are pretending to be “fleeing refugees from Syria” to induce U.S. sympathy so they can get into the U.S. & destroy it. Today, in an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” Donald Trump went so far as to say that he’d monitor select mosques, bring back waterboarding and keep refugees on a watch list.
You see…to the Governors, Donald Trump & others…it doesn’t matter that these Syrian Refugees are fleeing for their lives. No…it doesn’t matter that human rights watch groups state that the Syrian government continues to use “barrel bombs” against its civilian population. The “barrel bombs” are crude weapons made out of barrels filled with oil, explosives and shrapnel. The government uses these weapons despite a United Nations Security Council resolution (passed in Feb. 2014) that bans the use of such “barrel bombs.” Since the passage of the resolution, the Syrian government has killed more than 6,000 civilians — including 1,892 children — by barrel bombs. President Bashar al-assad’s government used siege and starvation tactics in 2014, with desperately hungry civilians eating leaves and grass just to survive. There is also very credible evidence that Bashar al-assad used chemical weapons against the Syrian people. The United Nations estimates that more than 240,000 people have been killed since the civil war began in 2011.
The one saving grace is that the final say on this contentious Syrian Refugee issue will fall to the federal government. The question of who should be allowed in this country is one that the Constitution commits to the federal government. So, legally…the Governors have no authority to prevent Syrian Refugees from coming to their state. However, without the state’s participation and assistance, the federal government will have a much more difficult task in efficiently getting the Syrian Refugees settled in this country. In September, the Obama administration announced that 10,000 Syrians will be allowed entry into the United States in 2016.
Am I surprised about the Governors’ attitudes towards the Syrian Refugees? Am I surprised that these leaders, who espouse to believe in God, evidence such ungodly & heartless behaviors toward other human beings? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Why would I be? Jesus says, “10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:10-14)
So, a man soweth…so, shall he reap.
To the U.S Governors, Donald Trump, Chris Christie & anyone else who doesn’t want to help the Syrian Refugees, I say this, “God never sleeps. He is watching everything that anyone says & does. EVERYTHING. Meaning? 24/7… your asses are in his clear view. Nothing is hidden from him. He has heard and seen the venomous poison…dripping from your mouths. He has heard your arrogance… exuding from your lips. Don’t you know that God holds you accountable for everything you say? Don’t you know this? You have publicly…turned your backs…on the weak, hungry, homeless & the needy. Men…Women…& let’s not forget…the babies. Do you not understand that many…oh, soooo many…of these people who we are calling “Syrian Refugees”… are the Heavenly Father’s children??? And, unless you repent to God…truly repent…& change your direction towards his children…He will turn his back on you. He will turn his back on your children. Is that what you want? And, will you be able to stand it (mentally & physically)…when the Heavenly Father flips the scrip? Remember, God says, “The last shall be first & the first shall be last.” You might think you are on top of your game… with your arrogant ways, but, do know this. Know that what goes up….must come down. And, when God brings it down…it comes crashing down…with a thunderous jolt.”
Being fearful…hateful… & without compassion… are ways of the devil…not, God. Do you actually believe that acting like the devil will keep you safe…anywhere??? Acting like the devil…will only bring other devils to your doorstep. Mark my word!!! I am telling you the truth. The truth of God.
PRAISE BE TO GOD…IN ALL HIS GLORY
