And, because there is human rights violations happening here…the Constitution is being violated. These people have the right to be here. They don’t have the right to be told they’re not allowed to be here. And, to hose them down…to use things that aren’t even allowed in combat…that’s why I’m here.” So…
What is Matthew Robie talking about??? Let me explain. Veterans, like Matthew Robie, are camping out near Cannon Ball, North Dakota, with the Native Americans in “freeze your ass off” type of temperatures. Why??? To help Native Americans fight against the greedy-ass owners of an American pipeline company. People that don’t give a damn about the lives of these Native Americans. Those bastards only care about grabbing & scooping up as much “moola” ( 
) as they can…as quickly as they can. And for them…if that means steam rolling over human beings…”So What???” Their greedy-ass ends…always justify their cruel & inhumane means. FOR SURE!!! Now, let me tell you more…
This thing that is happening… is the kind of thing that can make you just blow a damn gasket! O.k… For awhile…I have been hearing a little bit here…& a little bit there about a pipeline some company is trying to run that could negatively impact the lands of Native Americans. Now… Energy Transfer Partners, a Dallas based Fortune 500 pipeline company, is intent on finishing a 1,172-mile…$3.78-billion pipeline, that has been run to pump upward of 570,000 barrels of oil, daily, from northwestern North Dakota to southern Illinois. I don’t care how you cut it…. That’s a helluva lot of oil moving on a daily basis. They are calling this pipeline…the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). Now…
More than 200 Native American tribes are standing up & PROTESTING against this pipeline. Over 200 Tribes…PEOPLE!!! Tribe members & their supporters have gathered for months at a North Dakota camp site near the pipeline’s planned route… to try & stop it. This is the largest gathering of Native Americans in modern times. In other words…these people aren’t playing. This is no joke. This is “live free or die trying” kinda shit. Now…
You should already know that this “standing up” & “protesting” did not sit well at all with the Energy Transfer Partners (pipeline owners). HELL NO! Violent clashes have already ensued between protesters and pipeline workers. On September 9, 2016, DailyMail.com News reported… “Company guards employed dogs and pepper spray against protesters who fought back with sticks and poles. Injuries were reported on both sides.” On Sunday evening, 11/20/16, law enforcement & about 400 protesters violently clashed. The Morton County Sheriff’s Department blame the protesters for starting the conflict. The Sheriff’s office said the protesters were wrongfully attempting to cross the Backwater Bridge that was closed “due to damage caused after protesters set numerous fires” on the bridge on October 27. In addition, the Sheriff’s office said law enforcement officers were put in place to keep the protesters from crossing the bridge & trespassing on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers land to the north. O.k…
The protesters dispute the Sheriff office’s version of the events. According to the protesters, they were just trying to remove 1 of 2 vehicles… from the bridge… when law enforcement started firing rubber bullets, dispensing tear gas & spraying water on the protesters in below freezing temperatures. The protesters said they were trying to move the vehicle from the bridge because the bridge closure & the burned vehicles… endangered residents to the south by hindering easy access for any emergency vehicles coming from the north. So…
Why…specifically…are Native Americans opposing the “DAPL“… anyway??? They want to stop the pipeline from crossing state highway 1806 & moving eastward toward the Missouri River. The Standing Rock Sioux tribe says the “DAPL” will disturb their sacred lands and burial grounds. Standing Rock Sioux chairman, David Archambault II said… “Construction crews removed topsoil across an area about 150 feet wide stretching for two miles. This demolition is devastating. These grounds are the resting places of our ancestors. The ancient cairns and stone prayer rings there cannot be replaced. In one day, our sacred land has been turned into hollow ground.” And…
On the environmental tip…Native Americans fear that any pipeline, running across these lands, will break & cause an “oil spill” that jeopardizes their water supply & that of millions of other Americans. You see… The Missouri River supplies their drinking water. They are concerned that the pipeline might leak and contaminate wells along the pipe’s path. O.k… Now, let’s look a little deeper into this thing.
Do the Native Americans have legitimate concerns here or… are they just blowing smoke (no pun intended)? In other words… Are their fears well- founded? DAMN RIGHT they are!!! Let me tell you why… On 9/14/2016, the Huffington Post reported… “In the last three years, there have been over 200 crude oil spills. They happen all the time. And those are just the ones where you get the data. All the pipelines’ leak detection systems are only set up to detect spills of greater than 2 percent [of their liquid]. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you have a pipeline pumping 470,000 barrels of oil every day, it is. These pipelines are often seeping or leaking in small places and we don’t have any way to detect them. These are the types of concerns the tribes have and they’re, frankly, very well-founded.” Also… On November 1, 2016, the Business Insider reported… “…an in-depth 2010 report from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, which looked at the effects of three major oil spills, found increased incidences of cancer and digestive problems in people who had ingested the oil directly (in drinking water) or indirectly (through eating the meat of livestock exposed to the oil). In addition, people who had used contaminated water for bathing or laundry appeared to experience a higher incidence of skin problems, ranging from mild rashes to severe and lasting eczema and malignant skin cancers.” O.k…
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers claim the land, that the Native Americans are camping on, as federal land. And… On November 25, 2016, the Army Corps issued a December 5th deadline for protesters to move to a new site. A district manager with the Corps sent a letter to the Standing Rock Sioux tribe chairman. The letter states… “this decision is necessary to protect the general public from the violent confrontations between protesters and law enforcement officials.” So, why December 5th?
Native Americans do not think that the Army Corps of Engineers just picked this date out of the air. Oh…no. It turns out that the Dec. 5th deadline date coincides with a planned visit by some 2,100 Veterans. The Veterans plan on joining & protesting with the Native Americans at the camp from Dec. 4 through the 7. To make this happen, Veterans have already raised more than $350,000 to pay for the cross country trip. And… They have organized under the banner “Veterans Stand for Standing Rock.” O.k…
The Native Americans say not only are they are not going anywhere…they are reclaiming this federal land as their own. The tribe cites the 1851 Treaty as justification for reclaiming the land they are camping on. Mekasi Camp Horinek, a camp coordinator for the Standing Rock tribe said… “… we are drawing up papers”…indicating the tribe’s intent to show that every land sale after the 1851 Treaty was a breach of the treaty. (I will discuss this in a lot more depth at another time) O.k…
What I want to know is this… WHY??? WHY??? WHY??? Why are so many people such heartless…devils when it comes to Native Americans? Why isn’t breaking Treaty after &%$^%$ Treaty with the Native Americans… enough? Why isn’t trying to annihilate the Native Americans for just living on the land FIRST …enough? Why wasn’t George Custer getting his racist-ass kicked & scalped by the Native Americans…enough? ARE YOU “FEELIN” ME??? Why isn’t any of this shit happening “enough” for the U.S. Government to say… “WE MUST LEAVE THESE PEOPLE THE HELL ALONE! WE LIED TO & CHEATED THEM (over & over & over &… Oh Yeah… over). HAVEN’T WE CAUSED THEM ENOUGH HARM?” Somebody…P-L-E-A-S-E…tell me!!! (You know me & I have to get it out…or…explode) O.k…
Why are Native Americans some of the most walked over… hated … ignored… &…forgotten about people in this good ole U…S…of…A? And, this is the case… despite the fact that they were here l-o-n-g before anybody else’s ass got off any damn Mayflower…Sunflower…or whatever you want to call it…ship. O.k. To say that the Energy Transfer Partners is… adding “INSULT to INJURY” …is just too mild of a way… to put it. I like the way that, MSNBC host, Lawrence O’Donnell, on “The Last Word” put it… in August. He offers us one of the most powerful, raw & honest commentaries on the plight of Native Americans in this country, then & now.
PLEASE read it slowly & very carefully…so you don’t miss a thing. O.k…
Lawrence O’Donnell says & I quote… “Dakota means friend…friendly. The people who gave that name to the Dakotas have sadly never been treated as friends. The people whose language was used to name the Dakotas and Minnesota and Iowa, Oklahoma, Ohio, Connecticut, Massachusetts and other states.
The Native American tribes… the people who were here before us… long before us have never been treated as friends. They have been treated as enemies and dealt with more harshly than any other enemy in any of this country’s wars. After all of our major wars, we signed peace treaties and lived by those treaties. After World War II, when we made peace with Germany, we then did everything we possibly could to rebuild Germany. No Native American tribe has ever been treated as well as we treated Germans after World War II.
Donald Trump and his supporters now fear the country being invaded by foreigners who want to change our way of life. A fear that Native Americans have lived with every day for over 500 years. The original sin of this country is that we invaders shot and murdered our way across the land killing every Native American we could and making treaties with the rest. This country was founded on genocide before the word “genocide” was invented. Before there was a war crimes tribunal in “The Hague.” When we finally stopped actively killing Native Americans for the crime of living here before us, we then proceeded to violate every Treaty we made with the tribes. Every single Treaty. We piled crime… on top of crime…on top of crime against the people whose offence against us was simply that they lived where we wanted to live.
We don’t feel the guilt of those crimes because we pretend they happened a very long time ago…in ancient history. And, we actively suppress the memories of those crimes. But, there are people alive today whose grandparents were in the business of killing Native Americans. That’s how recent these crimes are. Every once in a while…there is a painful and morally embarrassing reminder as there is this week in North Dakota near the Standing Rock Sioux reservation where hundreds of people have gathered and camped out in opposition to an interstate pipeline being built from North Dakota to Illinois. The protest is being led by this country’s original environmentalists…Native Americans. For hundreds of years they were our only environmentalists. The only people who thought that land and rivers should be preserved in their natural state. The only people who thought a mountain or a prairie or a river could be a sacred place.
Yesterday, a federal judge heard arguments from the tribes against the federal government’s approval of the pipeline and said he will deliver his decision on whether the pipeline can proceed…next month. There are now over ninety tribes gathered in protest of that pipeline. That protest will surely continue even if the judge allows construction to proceed. And so, we face the prospect next month of the descendants of the first people to ever set foot on that land being arrested by the descendants of the invaders who seized that land. Arrested for trespassing. That we still have Native Americans left in this country to be arrested for trespassing on their own land… is testament, not to the mercy of the genocidal invaders who seized and occupied their land, but to the stunning strength and the 500 years of endurance and the undying dignity of the people who were here long before us. The people who have always known what is truly sacred in this world.”
So… What does God think?
What does He think about the fact that the Energy Partners Transfers pipeline company is trying to run a pipeline that could potentially contaminate & poison the drinking water of the Native Americans??? First, Jesus would call them devils for putting their “greed” over the welfare of other human beings. Jesus said…”Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Luke 6:31) In other words, treat people like you want to be treated. And… You can bet your ass that the Energy Partners Transfers pipeline company is not running this type of pipeline under their own drinking water sources. As a matter of fact…. The Huffington Post reported as follows… “And with this pipeline in particular, they originally proposed to build it near Bismarck, but they determined that it’s a more highly populated, higher-income part of the state and they were worried about the stress to their water supply. So they moved it out to the edge of the Standing Rock Sioux reservation and its drinking water supply. I think that decision is a perfect example of what sparked such an outrage here.” So… It can be argued here that the Energy Partner Transfers pipeline company thinking is… “Do unto others whatever the hell you can get away with.” You know…
We all need the type of heart that will choose to do “what is right” because it is “the right thing to do”…in the sight of God. And… That includes not running a pipeline, that will eventually break, under drinking water sources. That includes speaking out against wrongdoers like the Energy Partner Transfers pipeline company. So… As my Heavenly Father’s Ambassador…I say thank you to the Veterans & thank you to Lawrence O’Donnell for publicly standing up for a people who have been stepped on & stepped over… for far too damn long. I say thank you to Native Americans for being so loving…& so courageous. Thank you for making me so proud that my daddy is one of you…therefore, I am you. May God Bless You & Keep You…Always.
